đ Kidding & Breeding Update
Here at The Bohemian Farmstead, breeding season is one of the most exciting â and carefully planned â times of the year. Our Nigerian Dwarf goats are known for their sweet temperaments, colorful coats, and rich, creamy milk. To ensure the next generation is healthy, productive, and well-socialized, we pair our does with bucks that complement their strengths in both conformation and genetics. Â
How to Reserve:
Reservations for 2026 kids open January 15, 2026. A deposit is required to hold your spot (GOAT KID REQUEST FORM), with priority given to our waitlist customers. If you do not decide to choose from one of the kids this year, we will hold the deposit for next year's kidding season, or you can use that deposit to purchase products from our shop. We will also offer on-farm pick-up days so families can meet the kids in person before making final selections.
Breeding Season Timeline
SeptemberâNovember 2025: Does will be paired with selected bucks.
FebruaryâApril 2026: Kidding season begins! Weâll welcome a new crop of doelings, bucklings, and wethers.
MayâJune 2026: Kids will be weaned, registered (if applicable), and ready to go to their new homes.
Our Breeding Goals:
Milk Quality & Quantity: We select for does that produce sweet, high-butterfat milk ideal for drinking, cheesemaking, and skincare products.
Structure & Longevity: We breed for strong legs, well-attached udders, and overall conformation to keep goats healthy for years to come.
Friendly Temperaments: Our kids are handled daily from birth, making them excellent for families, show homes, and 4-H projects.
Beautiful Coats: From flashy buckskins to striking moonspots, we love producing colorful kids while keeping milk production a priority.
Types of Kids Available:
ADGA Registered doelings and bucklings from proven lines.
Pet & Companion Wethers â Castrated males perfect as friendly backyard goats.
Unregistered Dairy Kids â High-quality, healthy milkers without registration paperwork.
